Human Resource and Development, its indicator and role in vocational development (Eco)

Learning Objectives:

  • Students will understand what is human resource and growth and development of human resource
  • Students will learn about relation between population and human resource
  • Students will learn about the indicators of human resource development and the impact of human resource in socio-economic development
  • Students will learn about the role of vocational education in human resource development
Day-1

Time: 20 minutes

Activity 1:

The students will read the book to get an idea about human resource development. They will note down the doubts and will discuss with their teachers/ parents.

Time: 45 minutes

Activity 2:

The students will select two village/town nearby them. They will find the population of the village/town and the literacy rate in those two villages/ towns. They will try to find:
Literacy rate gender wise

Employability rate gender wise

The students will further analyse and compare the data and try to find the relation between literacy and employability Students can take help of internet and local resource person, family members, panchayat members.

Time: 30 minutes

Activity 3:

The students will refer to internet, textbook or Diksha app to understand the impact of human resource in socio-economic development.

Day-2 30 minutes

Activity 4:

The students will find about what is vocation education and the importance of vocational education.

Assessment:

Students will find the answers of the following and will share with their teachers/ parents:

  • What do you understand by ‘people as a resource’?How is human resource different from other resources like land and physical
  • capital?
  • Does your school have any vocational subject? If you want to enrol yourself for any vocational course, what kind of preparation will you need?
  • How will you explain the term unemployment?
  • What is the difference between disguised unemployment and seasonal unemployment?
  • How education and vocational education can mitigate the problem of unemployment?
  • What are the vocational education institutes available around you? What are the vocational subjects taught there?
  • what are the government schemes available for vocational education?
  • What kind of employment can you expect after completing the course?
