Learning Objective:
- The students will be able to learn how to conduct a quiz.
- It will increase the students’ vocabulary.
- The students will be encouraged to participate in different events such as role play, poetry recitations, skit, drama, debate, speech etc,
- They will be able to learn how to introduce themselves in English, interview people by asking question based on the work they do.
Day-1
Time: 10 mins Activity 1: The students will complete the activity sheet and share with the teacher. Quiz can only be on … (science, GK, current affair, all of the mentioned) There may be …. teams. (one, two, four, many) The person who conduct the quiz is called…. (quiz master, host, teacher, empire) Resource: Teacher can also conduct this quiz using google form, kahoot, quiz. Time: 40 mins Activity 2: The students will read the text ‘Explore India- Quiz time’ and find out the new words. After that they will search the difficult words in the dictionary and write the meaning in their copy. The students will create sentences using those new words and will share it with the teacher. Resource: The students can refer to this link where the lesson is analysed in Assamese: Time: 30 mins Activity 3: The students will go to the link to get all the textual question answers which are analysed in Assamese and will write in the copy and post it in school’s WhatsApp group. Resources: The student can click the given link to view a video of a quiz contest. Then they will get an idea how to conduct a quiz. The link below explains the textual questions and answers. |
Day 2
Time: 20 mins Activity 4: The student will prepare five good questions as a trail quiz on ‘health’ (there may be questions on COVID 19) and play with their siblings and parents on face to face mode. Before playing they will share the questions with the teachers. (teachers will encourage them to design more analytical question not only memory-based question.) Activity 5: The students will write 15 new questions for a quiz programme on ‘Explore India’ and share it with the teacher. Resource: G.K books/ Google/ discuss with family member. |
Day 3
Time: 60 mins (30 mins for each activity) Assessment: The student will write an article on what they have got to know about India from the lesson (150 words) Imagine your teacher has given you a responsibility to design and conduct a five-round quiz (general round, science and technology round etc). For that prepare a short notice which will be distributed in your schools for students to join along with quiz details and instruction to join (100 words) |
