My Native Land

Learning Objective:
    • The poem will help understand the significance of native land for a person.
    • To rise up the patriotism as well as the acknowledgement towards nation in students’ mind.
    • Students will develop vocabulary and language skills.
Day 1

Time: 10 minutes

Activity:

The students will share with teachers/ parents about why do they like their native land. They will prepare a list of things they like about their native land (it can be their village/town or state)

Time: 40 minutes

Activity: The students will read the poem and write a summary of the poem with the help of teachers/parents. They will also find the meaning of the difficult word using dictionary.

Students can refer to this website which gives a brief summary and explains the difficult words.

Day 2

Time: 40 minutes

Activity:

The students will find about the indigenous culture, sports, animals, food habits, dress, festivals of their native land. They will write a paragraph on the findings and will share with their teachers/ parents. (The students can also take photos of the same in their surroundings and share with their teachers)

Day 3
Time: 30minutesAssessment:The students will write a letter in English to a friend who stays in another state to invite him to visit his native land. The students will describe about their native land and the special attractions, food, festivals etc. (150-200 words)The students can watch the video for the questions and answers and write the answers in their notebook. Resource:
