Learning Objectives:
- The students will get an idea about the different types of quadrilaterals and can identify their properties
- The students will get an idea about polygons and their angles
- The students will acquire more logical understanding about quadrilaterals
Day 1
Time: 40 minutes Activity: Students will do the following activity: With the cut out shapes the students will make different shapes (like kite, rhombus, square, trapezium, parallelogram etc) and will write the name of the figures. They will share what they did with teachers/ parents Resource: Students can refer to text book (Page no. 57,58, 61, 62,63) Time: 40 minutes Activity: The teacher will give the following activities to the students: Take a paper and draw a parallelogram, cut the shape and name them ABCD. fold it by AC and DB. Then the student has to find out whether diagonal DB bisects the diagonal AC at the same point E? Share with your teacher Take a square sheet, say ABCD. Fold along both the diagonals. Is their mid-point the same? Check if the angle at E (mid-point) is 90 degree. After going through page no. 49 of the text book the student will draw some figure of convex and concave polygon and will share it with the teachers. |
Day 2
Time: 60 minutes Assessment: Think about the given problems and share the answer with your teacher.
Resource: The students can follow the link to understand the Quadrilaterals: family tree and its properties https://www.geogebra.org/m/YDVXQAMB |
